A riding boot or riding shoe gives some support and the heel prevents the foot from going through the stirrup. Riding boots or horse riding shoes, what you choose is more a matter of taste. Riding boots are available in many different models and designs. Riding boots provide better support to the leg than the riding shoe, but if you prefer riding shoes, you can supplement it with a gaiters, you get a boot-like appearance. Remember to take care of your boots well so they last longer.
